The mental health services is outdated and needs to be updated to support a better crisis prevention plan for people in different categories of mental status. Mental health Dr Susan Laux is one of the best there. I'm so glad Dr Zerren retired because his style of treatment was outdated and non effective.

I have a son who has been hospitalized 8 times since August and they recommended IOP therapy before he could do residential. Well, he got kicked out of IOP therapy and in their discharge they said "higher level of care/residential" and the county stepped down to just therapy once or twice a week and after school programs. That in no way keeps the other kids in the home safe from his violent outbursts. He has threatened to kill himself and others and the county just says basically that there are programs for the others that he traumatizes. Why traumatize 4 others when one can get help? The one word answer is FUNDING. They threw that word around alot the last few weeks.

They have a great psychiatrist named Brooke. And a great counselor named Kristen. If you mental health services go there. You'll be glad you did. They go on a sliding fee scale. I pay nothing because I'm very low income

The front staff of the mental health dept. gave me false information. They gave me a phone number to call to get an appointment scheduled. The phone number turned out to be the crisis hotline, which obviously does not do appointments. And I know for certain the front staff I had spoken to knew I was looking to make an appointment because I specifically clarified that. I have this on recording because I record all my phone calls.

Another time I called, they randomly placed me on hold instead of answering my question and then hung up on me.

They don't seem to communicate with each other, either, as my therapist had told me to call and make an appointment with someone else while she was out on vacation for a week, and none of the front staff was willing to do that because they didnt believe me.

I have also been yelled at and had my intelligence unduly insulted. I've been interrupted and not listened to while also being accused of lying when they were the ones lying. All I was doing was talking and trying to ask 1 question, and they escalated it to the point of sending me into a panic attack and dissociation for hours. I never got my question answered (which was simply regarding an employee's availability, as I was suppsed to speak with her and could not get a hold of her).

Several times I have been here to see my therapist, I had to wait 10+ minutes even just to get checked in because the front staff was too busy talking to each other about nothing to even acknowledge me. I would have to call my therapist directly myself to report that I was here. This happened multiple times.

I'd expect far better from the staff of a mental health department. I have half a mind to sue for emotional distress due to extreme/outrageous conduct outside of the bounds of tolerance.

I’ve been seeing Sandy since my original therapist went on leave. I’ve only seen her 4 times maybe, but she’s been SO HELPFUL

AVOID Lauren Bartelt as your therapist. She says she cares and supports, but if you exhibit symptoms of mental health, she will drop you completely out of nowhere. Untrustworthy and unsupportive, especially when you would need a therapist.

I provided transportation to someone receiving treatment at the center and the customer service I witnessed was HORRIBLE. The receptionist staff were incredibly rude to not only my party but a gentleman requesting urgent care for mental health needs. With the severity of mental health problems in our country you would think employees at a place like this would show at least an ounce of compassion.
