I have been renting a Zell-managed home for over 14 years. They have always handled problems promptly and worked with me through a couple of short-term financial difficulties...including COVID. I am very impressed with their professionalism. I am in the process of moving from a house they manage to one of their apartment buildings nearby. I am only moving because the homeowner is selling the house.

Very poor experience with customer service. This company routinely fails to give residents 24h notice when doing maintenance on properties, and fails to respond to maintenance requests. It's hard to get a hold of someone as well.

I've had no good experiences with them ever since they took over Fairview Townhouse Apartments on Rengstorff Road in Mountain View. I would not recommend renting from this company. Very disappointed with my experience.

We lived in a unit managed by Zell for a little over a year and it was the smoothest experiences possible. Robert was professional and responsive when we were looking for a unit initially and was always available if we ever needed a service or had any questions. Zell uses great online systems for paying rent and I never had any issues with them during my lease or when I moved out. Thanks again Robert

We currently live at an apartment community owned by Zelle Associates, and they post letters to our doors at 10-11pm and except for us to allow them into our home that next morning.
It is California law to give us a minimum of a 24 hour notice.
We have pets, and we are not going to be locking up our pets for our 12 hour work shifts due to lack of insufficient notice.
Very unacceptable.

One of the best application/rental processes I've ever been through! The process was easy and simple, and Zell Associates was very helpful. This increased my excitement about moving in and made me feel quite at ease about doing so.

Poor and illegal work ethics. I was actually told not even to bother to submit an application or look at a rental they had for rent if I have a service animal. Which is illegal. Robert specifically scoffed over the phone regarding my need for my service animals which really offended me and my need for my animal for my disability. He told me not to even bother to look at the property or submit application. After about a week or so of searching places my husband brought us to a property for rent to view and we liked it and applied. At this point we had no idea it was the same guy working for this particular company bc a lady showed us the place and I hadn't remembered him being associated w the place we viewed I actually had even forgot about his name and the situation bc believe me there's tons of great houses for rent for 4K a month and we had just moved on. But what really hurts more, after we applied he found every reason not to approve our application and after speaking w him he brought up that he spoke to me already about my cats. Of course after I put two and two together. & so did he because he has ignored my application since. These practices are illegal and I am going to be reporting the matter.
