Rude, unorganized, and unprofessional. Made an appointment for a viewing. No one showed. I called the number that confirmed the appointment LESS THAN AN HOUR PRIOR. The person was out of office, had to call 3 other numbers provided, no one knows what’s going on. Dodged a bullet with this one, very unfortunate for tenants.

I lived in an apartment for 2 and a half years. Around the year-and-a-half mark, Holster Management took over the building. I resigned my lease with them and chose the month-to-month option.
I gave a 2-and-a-half-week notice I was moving out. Once I had already moved out of the apartment for over a week, I was informed I needed to pay the following month’s rent because they did not yet have the apartment filled.
I called to speak with them and was told I needed to give a 28-day notice if I was moving out. Nowhere in my lease was that information included. I was told it is a state law. This should have been stated in my lease. I also should have been notified of this information when I said I was moving out or dropping off the keys to the apartment. They had every possible chance to let me know but chose not to. They did not inform me until a week after I dropped off the apartment key.
I have paid my rent on time every month and never had an issue. Originally I was planning on leaving a positive review. This last-minute astronomical extra charge has made me rethink my entire opinion of this rental company. Do not rent with them. You can read and understand your entire lease with them only for them to pull something like this on you

I had an appointment to see an apartment. Sue was 10 minutes late when I started texting to see if anyone would be coming to show it. She replied after about 5 minutes and said she had just left and that she would come back. By the time she got back she was 20 minutes late. She was very rude to me and said there were 2 apartments. I let her know that I was waiting by the apartment that I was told would be shown to me. I then mentioned Holster's bad reviews on Google and that this treatment didn't surprise me. She then jumped in her car and spun her tires and drove away without showing me the apartment. That was okay, by that time I had decided that I would NEVER rent from them.

Back in 2016 we were making a move back from Hawaii and needed to find a place to rent before arriving in Wausau and needed to sign the lease site unseen, rather than through pictures. With the help of our kids and Tom at Holster Management, they were able to find us a very nice duplex to rent that not only excepted pets, but 3 small dogs. These dogs are rescues that we have had since they were puppies. The neighborhood was very nice as well. We rented for 3 years from Holster with no problems at all. They were always attentive to our needs and if we called with a situation or concern, they contacted us within the hour. We recently needed to find a place to rent and once again contacted Tom at Holster was very fast to start helping us find a place, unfortunately, at this time Holster does not have any properties that meet our requirements as to location and size. We will continue to refer anyone looking for residential or business rentals to Holster Management.

I came to hang out with a friend who lives at one of their properties. There is black mold growing in the bathroom that’s been painted over, she had a broken lock for over a month and had to withhold rent until it was fixed after multiple complaints, she overpays exponentially every month for water that has been deemed unsafe for consumption BY THE CITY. She pays $60 a month and she barely uses enough water to pay $60 quarterly. This land lord over prices everything and god forbid if you need something fixed. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable staying there for a day. How she manages living there is a mystery.

Had everything setup and ready to sign a lease and move in but they never showed up for the appointment or answered their business line or responded to my emails so I left a mildly rude message stating I was no longer interested. Tried getting ahold of me after I left because they were over a half hour late and told me they had been expecting me to meet at a completely different location than the previous meet, and that the person I was meeting wasn’t actually there at the time anyways, and the location of which I was never informed of in the first place.
Although I WAS informed they don’t appreciate the rudeness at least.

Incredibly slow response time to things that need to be fixed. We've been living in a house with a moldy unstable garage since September and now it has reached the inside of the house. Still no response from anyone after many time trying to contact.

If you're a responsible individual who wants someone who's willing to work with you to sort out a living situation these are the guys to go to. They respond to all inquiries in a timely money and any maintenance issues receive a response asap. I would recommend them to anyone looking to rent in the area.
